Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide that is related to glucose. Maltodextrin is a fast acting carbohydrate and can be easily added to most drinks to increase the energy avaible in the drink during training.
Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being absorbed as rapidly as glucose, and might be either moderately sweet or almost flavorless. Maltodextrin is therefore used as major source of fast acting carbohydrates in many sports drinks and by athletes
