Beta-Alanine is a non-essential amino acid and is the only naturally occurring beta-amino acid. Not to be confused with regular alanine, Beta-Alanine is classified as a non-proteinogenic amino acid as it is not believed to be used in the building of proteins. Beta alanine helps during high intensity exercise by reducing the amount of positive hydrogen ions released by lactic acid, this is achived by boosting the synthesis of carnosine.
Beta Alanine Usage, Dosage and Side effects
Beta Alanine can be taken by adding the required amount to drinks such as water or fruit juice or by putting the recommended dosage into empty gelatine capsules.
As a dietary supplement we recommend taking 3 - 5 grams per day split between 2 servings.

One side effect associated with Beta Alanine is a tingly sensation particularly around the face and lips that occurs a few minutes after ingestion.
