Branched Chain Amino Acids | BCAA
Uses and Benefits of Branched Chain Amino Acids
This is 100% pure Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA), the main uses and benefits of BCAA are;
- Used by athletes to help improve strength-training results and help improve endurance.
- Athletes can also benefit from BCAA’s because they aid in repair, growth and development of muscle tissue.
- Research has shown that in both males and females, amino acid supplementation after exercise can reverse net muscle protein balance from a negative to a positive state. Additionally, amino acid ingestion reduces the rate of protein breakdown.
- Vegetarians may also benefit from BCAA’s.

Information on BCAA
Branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) is the name given to three of the eight essential amino acids needed to make protein. They are known as branched chain amino acids because their molecular structure has a branch off the main trunk of the molecule. The three BCAA’s are; Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine.
Leucine – works to protect muscle in conjunction with the other two BCAA’s and acts as fuel for the body. Also promotes the healing of bones, skin and muscle tissue and often recommended for patients recovering from surgery. Leucine is found in meat, nuts, brown rice and whole wheat.
Isoleucine – helps to stabilise and regulate blood sugar and energy levels. Also need for hemoglobin formation. When combined with the other two BCAA’s, they enhance energy, increase endurance and aid in the repair and healing of muscle tissue. Isoleucine is found chicken, eggs, nuts, chickpeas, lentils and seeds.
Valine – aids in muscle metabolism, tissue repair and maintaining nitrogen levels in the body. May also be helpful in treating liver and gallbladder disease. Valine is found in meat, mushrooms, peanuts and dairy products.
The combination of the three BCAA’s makes up around one-third of skeletal muscle in the human body.
