Creatine
Is a nitrogenous organic acid which occurs naturally and helps deliver energy to muscle. Creatine is widely used in sports specifically for increasing muscle mass, and is one of the most established supplements behind proteins with a long safety track record. More recently is has proved to be beneficial to those with neuromuscular disease and shown to improve cognition in double blind placebo tests. There are 2 main types of creatine, creatine monohydrate and creatine ethyl ester. These are discussed in this section.
